I studied Maths at Southampton University and have a degree and PGCE.  I am in my second year at GPUTC Peterborough and love teaching here. I have over 30 years of experience of teaching Maths in a variety of Secondary schools in the Peterborough area and London. I have an excellent track record with exam results for both GCSE and A-Level and particularly proud of our outstanding GSCE maths results with last year’s year 11.

I am the KS4 Student Manager for Year 11 and Lead Geography teacher, I have a joint BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education. I am a qualified teacher through the QTLS route and a member of the Society of Education. I see myself as a lifelong learner undertaking qualifications in main interests outside of work, horticulture and beekeeping.

I graduated in 2000 with a BA (Hons) in Product + Furniture Design from Nottingham Trent University as a mature student after raising children and experience in Adult Nursing in my native country Germany.

During my ‘Sandwich Year’, I completed an adult education qualification to teach at college level. This led to a post-graduate course in Design Technology to teach secondary students.

I now focus on Art + Design related courses, connecting areas of Art, Craft and Design to STEM subjects offered at the GPUTC. The aim is to enhance career opportunities.

I have six children; my youngest is currently in Y13 and about to embark on a medical science degree.

Emma joined us in September 2019 and has worked in a range of local schools.  Before training as a teacher Emma had a successful career in Procurement working for the Environment Agency as well as Blue Chip companies; Xerox and Caterpillar subsidiary FG Wilson.  This relevant commercial experience has proved useful in her teaching career but has found its home here at the GPUTC.

I am a Workshop Technician and Sea Cadet Divisional Officer. I have a background in Railway Engineering and Production Line Maintenance. I enjoy the preparation of materials for students and then see the different ways they put them together to create their finished projects. As the Sea Cadet instructor it’s great to help students get involved in numerous activities from football to sailing, First Aid to meteorology.
