Careers Programme, Careers Advice & Employer Projects
There is an on-going and important role for sponsors and partners in the setting up, design and delivery of the learning experience of our students. They will ensure that the learning experience of the UTC’s students develops the skills, knowledge and understanding employers demand. Employers are committed to supporting students in their projects and technical challenges and to providing mentors and role-models for GPUTC students. They will also provide work experience, project work support, curriculum development and possible sponsorship.
Challenge projects will involve students following a relevant technical activity that will develop their interests and provide the context for their learning. The learning activities will be mapped against the qualification aims of the students, as well as being an instrument for developing team working, communication and employability skills. Many of the challenges being developed are related to sustainability within engineering and the built environment. All challenge projects will reflect the real world contexts of employers and increasingly will integrate learning within the general curriculum subjects as well.
