Year 11 News - Feb
February has been an exciting month for our year 11 students - written by Beth Holman.
Tyler Banks has been successfully involved in the Cambridgeshire ACF N0.1 Hereward Company for almost 4 years, during this time he has shown off his fitness by completing a cross country run around an airfield to gain an awarded badge ‘this was the hardest run off my life!’ he quotes. Currently he is completing his 4 star module with his final field craft assessment in March to then complete a senior cadre instructor course. This allows him to take a major step In his Cadet career, taking part in a Master cadet course!’
Most recently while participating in a 4 star field craft camp he has been nominated for ‘Combat Cadet’ which means that he will be taking part in a high skill training programme over a number of days to demonstrate his Senior field craft skills.
Tyler’s ongoing participation in the Cadets has been a positive influence to all aspects of his personal, social and academic life. Tyler has shown a great deal of dedication, discipline and through this he has gained invaluable leadership, teamwork and is now the most Senior Cadet in the Ramsey Detachment.
He believes Cadets has completely changed his school life, being more responsible as a student and showing his teachers a different side of him. Tyler has been managing himself better in the classroom and as a role model to his peers.
