Year 10 News - Jan
January has been a successful start to 2019 for all year groups.
Please read below a message from our year 10 student manager Mr Sean Alldread.
Celebrating Success – Year 10 Reward Trip
At the end of last term the Year 10 reward trip took place to Laserforce and Escape rooms. On the trip the students showed team working skills in both activities. It was really rewarding watching the groups in the escape rooms work together to solve cryptic and logic based clues. I am very pleased that two of the groups managed to successfully escape the room.
Students have been explained the next steps and have been given a set of deadlines. The first of which is Friday 18th January to make at least 4 choices on the Skills Service website. After this students will be auto allocated based on their choices, alternatively arrangements have been put in place to self-place. The expectation is that students contact their potential work experience placements and ask for an interview. This stage needs to be completed by half term in order for students to arrange and undertake interviews over the half term break.
Conduct for exam
The general behaviour and response from students in undertaking their first formal mock exam was exceptional. Moving forward we want this conduct to be replicated in all examinations at GPUTC.
ICash are continuing to support our students with free confidential sexual health advice and contraception. Students make an appointment as and when required.
ASPIRE presented to students on Wednesday 16th January regarding relationships where alcohol and consent in concerned. Students engaged well with the session, making some valid points and learning facts about this matter.
