Student Journey

Am I happy with my grades? What grades did I achieve?: I am very happy with my results in both A-Level Physics and my BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering. I was awarded an A* in my Physics and a D*D*D in my Engineering. I am not so pleased with my A-Level Maths result, I was awarded a C grade. The school submitted a prediction of my grade to be an A, this coincides with all of my mock results. Unfortunately, my grade was reduced by the governing body. I am currently working with the school to appeal this grade, and hope to be awarded an A in this too, which I will be very pleased with.  What are my next steps?: I am currently taking a gap year whilst applying to become a Royal Marines Commando Officer, with University being deferred until next year as another option.  How did the UTC help me to achieve these grades?: The UTC offering engineering courses has allowed me to achieve my engineering qualification, something that most schools do not provide. And achieving grades in both my Maths and Physics has been made possible through strong support from my subject teachers.  What memory sticks out the most from my time at UTC?: The opportunity to take part in the Royal Navy's Junior Leaders' Field Gun event several years in a row has been a pleasure. It's an amazing event that not many get to experience.
