Someone recently gave me the challenge of summing up - in just one sentence - what Greater Peterborough UTC was all about. I came up with 'helping young people discover and develop their futures'. Discovery, invention, creativity and problem-solving are central to all that happens here and one way this is delivered is by us putting all we do in the context of business and industry, particularly those linked with our specialisms of The Built Environment and Engineering.
Our graduates will leave at 16 or 18 to go into further training, jobs or higher-level study, most probably extending the work they've done in Engineering or the Built Environment. Our students come from across the local region - from Sawtry, Spalding, Huntingdon and Oundle for example - as well as from within the city boundaries, and our committed sponsors and partners are similarly based across the region as well as in Peterborough.
Creating a new school community is an exciting journey and the partnerships we are already forming with employers, local organisation, students and parents are a terrific starting point for building a journey where all our young people can reach their desired destination.
