Nestle Purina Visit

Year 12 students at the Greater Peterborough UTC got an insight into all things Nestle Purina, when a team from the company came into deliver Business Studies students an interactive lesson. Emily, Katie and Aoife from Nestle Purina are all on the graduate scheme with the company and wanted to inform our students on the manufacturing side of Nestle's business.

The Nestle team set our students an interactive challenge whereby with a limited number of resources our year 12 students had to build a paper bridge strong enough to hold Nestle's very own Kit Kat Chunky. With our Year 12s having participated in our World Record to create the worlds largest paper pyramid last February, it is safe to say that our students were more than well equipped to take on the challenge.

Katie from the team has this to say about the day 'It was great to come into the businesss studies class today and talk about the opportunities at Nestle Academy for apprenticeships and graduate programmes. The teams all worked really well together on the challenge that we set them, everybody had a good time including ourselves and the students learnt plenty about the different aspects of the manufacturing environment".

Our students must have made a strong impression on the team as Aiofe mentioned 'I think the students are really going to go onto great things and do really well both here at GPUTC and wherever they choose to go and work next'.
