Year 12 students get networking

Our Year 12 Built Environment students networked their way around the Peterborough Construction Network earlier this week.

The Peterborough Construction Network brings together all professions associated with the development and construction industries in the region.

Our students, along with our Principal opened the forum by bringing the attendees within the industry up-to-date with what has been happening at GPUTC. Our students had the opportunity to take the floor and explain why they had joined the UTC and what their future aspirations are.

Our students networked with the regions Developers, Specialist Contractors, Architects, Planning Consultants, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Surveyors and more.

Here is what our Year 12 student Mickey had to say about the experience. "Before coming to the UTC, I had never done any sort of networking before. As I want to become an architect, the opportunity for me to meet local employers in the field was good and I even managed to get a couple of business cards from companies that would be interested in hearing from me when I have finished at the UTC’.

The day was an invaluable opportunity for our students to network with professionals which even resulted in offers of work experience during summer 2017.
