  • Larkfleet donates model home to GPUTC

    The Larkfleet Group of Companies has handed over a model house to GPUTC. The scale model of a typical timber-framed house built by Larkfleet Homes can be taken apart and re-assembled using a set of drawings which Larkfleet has also supplied.

  • Nestle Purina Visit

    Year 12 students at the Greater Peterborough UTC got an insight into all things Nestle Purina, when a team from the company came into deliver Business Studies students an interactive lesson. Emily, Katie and Aoife from Nestle Purina are all on the graduate scheme with the company and wanted to inform our students on the manufacturing side of Nestle's business.

  • UTC's preparing students for STEM careers

    A new report released today by the charity that promotes University Technical Colleges like the Greater Peterborough UTC reveals that nearly half (45%) of 20-35 year olds working in STEM related roles (science, technology, engineering and maths) believe the subjects they studied at school are useless in the world of work. A greater number (61%) thought that learning technical skills would have been more useful than studying traditional academic subjects

  • Students get hacking

    GCSE Computer Science students took part in the third round of a 6-hour long (legal) hackathon earlier this month as part of the national Cyber Security Challenge UK. The aim of the challenge was to test our students' cyber security skills by getting them to defend a virtual PC from threats and viruses. The team had to play a series of online qualifying rounds, which challenged their networking, coding and cyber security skills.

  • Peterborough to hold the second free STEM Festival

    Following a very successful and well received event in 2016, Digital People in Peterborough and Allia Future Business Centre are delighted to announce another STEM festival for 2017. The main Festival day will be on Sunday 1st October with a dedicated School’s Day on Friday 29th September.

    Students and staff were delighted to receive a visit from former Conservative Education Secretary and UTC Co-Founder Lord Baker. Lord Baker spent the day with students and staff, where he had the opportunity to see the first cohort of Engineering and Built Environment students in action.

  • GPUTC welcomes the class of 2016

    We opened our doors to 142 students and over 20 members of staff on Monday 12th September. The day featured a number of nervous and excited youngsters dressed in business wear being interviewed by BBC Look East and Radio Cambridgeshire as soon as they walked through the door!
